Homes Like Inhora are Needed in Every Community

Albuquerque is still getting to know us - but what they know, they love. “You’re already providing the best end of life care in the City” is what one hospice nurse recently told us. We don’t want to be an exception, we want to be an example - every community needs a home like ours, at least within an hour.

We hope others will to start similar homes - or that we can open more

Here are some numbers to help understand the need for our home.

  • Since April, we’ve cared for 30 guests

  • We’ve had 58+ referrals - so we’ve only cared for about 1/2 of those who needed our home

  • At least 4 people died in an institution while waiting for an Inhora room

  • The average Guest stay to death is 6 days - a few have stayed one night, two have stayed over 30 days

  • Our Guests come from various belief systems, all of which have been honored

    • Atheist

    • Agnostic

    • Muslim

    • Mormon

    • Native

    • Protestant

    • Catholic

    • Greek Orthodox

  • Our Guests have come from diverse ethnicity

    • Black

    • Caucasian

    • Hispanic/Latino

    • Middle Eastern

    • Native

  • Our Guest’s gender have been just about 50/50 male to female

  • 7 Guests have come directly to Inhora from their home

    • The rest came from a facility such as a hospital or nursing home
